My Values
"Strength begins with seeking help.
You've already taken the first step."
I understand that seeking help requires immense strength, and I want you to know that I see you. My mission is to create a safe and supportive space where my patients feel heard, understood, and treated with kindness and respect. I strive to empower each person to take meaningful steps toward healing, resilience, and lasting mental wellness, while also encouraging the development of healthy boundaries that support emotional balance and personal growth.
If you're new to seeing a psychiatric provider, you may be surprised to find that the initial appointment is quite similar to visits with other medical professionals. During this first appointment, the focus is on understanding your treatment goals, your experiences, and what you hope to gain from care. Together, we work to develop a treatment plan that aligns with your needs and values. While you may be primarily concerned with psychiatric or emotional symptoms, it is important to recognize that mental health and physical health are closely connected. Conditions such as depression, anxiety, and difficulty concentrating can sometimes be related to underlying medical issues such as thyroid disease, infections, medication side effects, hormonal changes, or other treatable medical conditions. For this reason, part of the evaluation process includes considering potential medical contributors to your symptoms. Obtaining an accurate diagnosis is an important step in creating an effective treatment plan. Sometimes this process unfolds over several visits as we gather more information and better understand your experiences. My goal is to approach this process thoughtfully and collaboratively so that together we can build a path toward improved mental health and overall well being.
